Christian Formation

Sunday Morning Formation

This is on hold indefinitely until we resume our public worship services.

Sunday Mornings from 9:15am - 10am (between services).

You are invited to participate in BCP 101 beginning on February 2nd.  Please note that there will be no class on February 23rd.

Participants will learn how to navigate and use the 1979 Book of Common Prayer (not just the “dirty pages” of the Holy Eucharist section).  You will learn how it is a source for your own corporate and personal prayer and devotional life, but also how it serves as a rule of life for the laity and clergy of a parish church.  By the end of this class, you will have a better understand the discipline and worship of the Episcopal Church and you will know how to pray and lead the services of Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer.

Bible Study

This is on hold indefinitely until we resume our public worship services.

Tuesday Mornings.  Our daytime Bible Study Group meets most Tuesday at 11:30am.

Develop a deeper understanding of the Bible and grow in your relationship with God.  Topics vary throughout the year and it is not necessary to come every week.  Visitors are encouraged and welcome to bring their insight and questions.

The Money Course

Wednesdays from 6:30 - 9pm

Check our website for our next offering

It is hard to grow in faith and total trust in Jesus when bound by the shackles of financial anxiety and insecurity.  The Money Course is a free class that comes from Holy Trinity, Brompton in the Church of England (the creators of the Alpha Course) in order to help set people free from that bondage.  St. George’s will provide a free meal, free child care, and free materials for anyone in the congregation or wider community who comes to participate in this three week class, which we will be offering quarterly.  Come on a Wednesday evening, enjoy food and fellowship, and get a better understanding of your finances: your emotional relationship with money, budgeting, debt, life balance, etc.

To sign up for the Money Course contact the office at 248-684-0495

New Member Class

Sundays from 12:30 - 2pm

Check our website for our next offering

Are you new to St. George’s or even to the Episcopal Church?  Are you a long-time member, but feeling disconnected from the community and unsure how to get involved?  Participate in our New Member Class.  Consider this an orientation to life in an Episcopal parish generally and St. George’s particularly.  This class will meet on Sunday afternoons over lunch for four sessions where we will learn about each other, our faith, Anglicanism and the Episcopal Church, and our parish’s history and congregational life.  Have you been here for a few years but wish there was an opportunity like this when you first came?  Please participate in this class as it is still for you. We will offer the New Member Class as frequently as becomes necessary, up to once per quarter.

Sunday School & Nursery

Sunday School aged children (5-11) are welcome to join the service.  Activity packs are available on request.

Our Nursery is located off Parish Hall and is staffed by one paid nursery attendant and/or one volunteer parent.  We offer infant and toddler care up to 4 years old year round (on most Sundays).

At Saint George's we want all families to feel comfortable.  This is why we also offer other options if you wish not to use our Nursery.  The Soft Space is located in the back or our worship space or nave.  We also have a Cry/Noisy Area in Parish Hall.

For more information please download our Children In the Church flyer or Contact Us.

Youth Group

Our Youth Group is for Junior High & High School aged youth.  We are currently looking for leaders to plan and lead activities for our Youth Group.
