It's Christmas Pageant Time!
Dear Sunday school Parents,
Well, it’s hard to believe but it’s pageant time again at St. Georges. There are just a few things I’d like to remind everyone regarding our Christmas program. Pageant rehearsals are held during the 10:30 am service in the three weeks prior to the program. Since we have such a limited amount of time to practice, it is very important for your child to be at every rehearsal if they want to participate in the program. As always, the program is open to all Sunday school aged children. This includes the 3-5 year-olds all the way through high school. No one will be denied a part in the program.
This year we have decided to highlight the musical talents of our children. This means that we will be doing more of a music program than a traditional Christmas story. If your child plays an instrument of any kind, we would like them to play something in our program. The younger children who don’t play instruments will be asked to sing. We plan to have them perform in small groups. Some of them will be asked to play solos as their varying abilities make it hard to group them together. Please have your child bring his/her instrument (or music if they play piano or sing) to each rehearsal. If they have a particular song they’d like to sing we would love them to do it. Make sure they have a copy of the words at each rehearsal.
Here is the rehearsal schedule:
Sunday November 29th 10:30 am
Sunday December 6th 10:30 am
Sunday December 13th 10:30 am
Dress rehearsal: Saturday December 19th 10:30 am – THIS ONE IS MANDATORY PROGRAM DAY: SUNDAY DECEMBER 20th DURING THE 10:30 AM SERVICE
I am aware that our first rehearsal is scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend. Do your best to be there but I understand that some of you will be out of town.
Thank you so much for your assistance and cooperation during the next several weeks. Remind your kids that this is a fun event for us and they don’t have to be perfect. We have kids of all abilities playing instruments. Some have only been playing for a few months and others have been playing for years. Their parents, grandparents, and St. George’s family love to watch them and don’t care if they make mistakes. Please encourage them to participate!
Thank you,
